We are very excited to welcome Jim Lahn to the District as our new Area Certification Specialist for the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP). Jim brings a wealth of experience from Iowa and will be responsible for the program in the North-central region of Minnesota. Meet him below:

Jim Lahn

Howdy! I am Jim Lahn (pronounced ‘lane’), the new Area Certification Specialist for the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP), and I am on the staff of the East Otter Tail SWCD in Perham. I look forward to working with producers and landowners in an 11-county area on conservation practices which protect Minnesota's water resources. My background: Agronomy & Farm Operation Degree from Iowa State University; NRCS District Conservationist in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota for more than 20 years; and very familiar with soil sampling, crop scouting, and manure management plans. I enjoy working with both agronomy and conservation and with producers who want to be highly productive as well as protect our water and soil resources.
